It has been a very busy and fulfilling spring with the presentation of our 'We Care' Military Care Package program taking place in Denver, Colorado.  Over 200 people participated writing letters, making paracord bracelets and adding toys and snacks to each care package.  Along with putting together the packages the program focused on how to manage and organize in the midst of uncertainty and chaos.  Whether your group or company has well defined protocols and an agreed upon cultural mindset, organizing in the midst of uncertainty can be challenging.  The Military Care Package program is a fun and interactive way to get insights on how to best manage these periods while giving back to your community. 

Fortunately, the participants had assistance from several local USO members attending the event. The active service men and women shared their stories of receiving care packages while deployed. They were very grateful for the group's donation and for what it would mean to their fellow service men and women.

A popular gaming software company in the Bay area participated in our ‘Full STEAM Ahead’ program donating over 550 science and art kits to a school that was 100% below the poverty line. The kits for the students are chosen by the teachers to compliment their curriculum and provide a fun and interactive way for their students to learn about science, technology, engineering, arts and math, or "STEAM", learning.  

The company has a strong giving back component and wanted to include this with their meeting of 150 participants.  The program included exercises on Diversity and Inclusion and this was clearly demonstrated in the exercise where they built and raced cars from kits that are similar to what the kids would receive in their classrooms.  The highlight of the day was meeting a few of the kids from the school who are part of the STEM team. They had some exciting news to share that they had just won 1st place at the San Mateo County STEM Fair and would be going to the State Science Finals in LA later that month.  It is because of partnerships like these, between profit and not-for-profit organizations, that opportunities are being created that are making a difference to the next generation today.
